CIA Bowling Party Night

Last Saturday, March 28, 2009, our school had a bowling party at Freeway Lanes, Wickliffe, OH, where any student from the school can come and play for 2 hours, free pizza and pop and the school had some transportation to take us from the school to the bowling alleys and back.

I took some videos, mashed it up and produced this: (Hope you’ll like!)

Black Mesa: The Game

If you’re a fan of the Half-Life Series, chances are, you know the company Black Mesa. And if you’ve played Portal, you know all about it. As technology progresses and as the Source engine tightens, they decided it’s time to revisit the past. They planned on recreating the first ever Half Life story, how it happened, and put a deeper more stable story to go with it. A triler has already been released but the unveiling hasn’t been… yet.

It is basically the first ever Half Life game with better graphics and gameplay.

An official website HAS BEEN put up. One complete with level designs, weapon designs, concept artworks, game models, and characters. It also has a feature where the community can actually design a character/weapon/level and just leave it to Source if they actually pick you!

Also, don’t forget to visit their YouTube Channel/Page. There, they show you trailers, tests, walkcycles and more.

All in all, the game looks promising! I just don’t know what people might think in playing a remake of a game they’ve already played.

YUP! As long as you have a copy of ANY source engine game on steam, Black Mesa will cost you nothing. Zip. Nada.

Untooning by Pixeloo

Ever wondered what cartoons look like in REAL life? Then say no more! Mr. Pixeloo has done just that – creating masterpieces of cartoons brought to life – in a creepy kind of way.

I have been admiring Pixeloo’s works for a long time now and, just recently, I stumbled onto his YouTube account where he showed the very making of this magnificent untooning. Here’s the video:

His process of work starts from using a reference picture then layering tons of other reference pictures on top of it.

I stumbled onto this while watching SNL‘s real life depiction of Cathy in the Cathy Comic Strips where Jessica Biel cameos as Jessica Rabbit.

Looking at Graffiti works on Facebook came to the discovery of the very Mr. Pixeloo himself. An artwork he featured on his blog showed up on Graffiti and I’m sure that this is him as his art style is the same. Check out the work on his blog here that’s similar to the Graffiti he drew here. I can now tell you that Mr. Pixeloo has definitely a name: Mr. Alex Rodriguez. (SEE EDIT BELOW)

I quickly assumed without confirming. Mr. Alex Rodriguez may have been simply copying Mr. Pixeloo’s works as I have found substantial evidence that Mr. Rodriguez is NOT Pixeloo – Pixeloo’s Twitter account states that Mr. Pixeloo’s real name is Jan Pixeloo. Also, I have found Mr. Pixeloo’s DeviantArt account!

Super Duper Mario Galaxy

What fascinates me about Super Mario Galaxy is… (besides the awesome gameplay) …the music. I must confess. I do appreciate certain kinds of orchestral music. Something in it just entices me to listen, feel and ride with it. And the fact that Nintendo had the guts to orchestrate a video game is just wonderful! And yes, I do wish that they’d orchestrate most of the games… when necessary.

Super Mario has long been the best of the best – gameplay, art, music, you name it! All thanks to the genius mastermind, Shigeru Miyamoto who somehow had the mind to put Mario in his head and make it come to life. In 2007, he developed another chapter for our always contending hero – Super Mario Galaxy – where Mario takes to the skies and into space to save Princess Peach and the universe from Bowser’s plan for total universe domination. Here, you’ll see some old characters from the series and some new ones who fit the chapter flawlessly. In this series of Super Mario, you get to travel from one Galaxy to the other through the help of the Luma Stars and the Star Princess, Rosalina.

Someone who understands the material of choice. She definitely has control over her art material… sand. Ilana Yahav does her art as a performance piece with a camera situated above the light table where she performs her art. Although the videos aren’t in good quality, you can still appreciate the kind of art performance that she is doing. Visit her site and give her a thumbs up!
